President's Message
A Message from LIWA's New President
I am proud and excited to lead LIWA into the second decade of providing a voice for Long Island women on issues, policies and programs affecting the lives of those living and working on Long Island. We have a wonderful and diverse Board of Directors who will help LIWA grow and prosper.
Where we are now is the result of the leadership, vision and dedication of those who came before. Our first Board of Directors under the leadership of Erica Garay had the vision to create an organization of organizations and include the female movers and shakers on Long Island. We are very grateful to the first Board and to Erica for creating an organization where women could work together to accomplish more.
Over the last two years Melissa Connolly has effectively led LIWA through a transition period and made it a better, more accomplished, better organized, and exciting organization. Personally, I would like to thank Melissa for being a wonderful mentor and friend who has encouraged me and has helped to prepare me to now lead the organization.
I welcome all of you to become involved with LIWA by joining, getting involved in our various committees, coming to our seminars and events and bringing us your concerns and ideas. There is much we can accomplish together.
Best Regards,
Hillary Rutter
